family is an “untouchable” and an exception

to biblical exhortations that pertain to

separation and fellowship issues. In fact,

Christians are encouraged by many pastors

and Bible teachers to have fellowship with

and participate in social activities and get-

togethers with family members who are

living in blatant and unrepentant sin just

because they’re family, and we are told

that our godly example can have a positive

influence on these ungodly family members

and that our loving acceptance of them while

they continue to live in blatant sin can

persuade them to repent of their sins and

desire a right relationship with God.

The problem with that philosophy,

however, (other than it being unscriptural) is
