6.2.3 The Branch Manager will acknowledge receipt of the grievance, in
writing, where practicable, within five working days of receipt. The
manager will meet with the employee concerned to discuss the
complaint. The person against whom the complaint has been made
will then be advised. They will be issued with a copy of the
complainant’s statement and invited to an investigation meeting
during which they will be given the right to respond to the allegation.
6.2.4 The Manager may also meet with any other person whom they
consider relevant to the complaint or grievance and request and
consider any and all documentation and information relating to the
grievance. They may also engage outside expertise that may attend
these meetings if appropriate.
6.2.5 The manager will notify, in writing, both the complainant and the
person against whom the complaint has been made, of their reasoned
decision not more than 20 working days from the date on which the
meeting to discuss the grievance took place.
6.2.6 In the event that the manager upholds the grievance they will state in
a written decision the action to be taken to resolve the grievance. If
disciplinary action is warranted it will be investigated by a different
manager.
6.3 Grievances during disciplinary procedure
6.3.1 If an employee raises a grievance, where the reason for the grievance
is actual disciplinary action by AllPro Recruitment, we will hear the
grievance as part of a disciplinary appeal hearing (see “Appeals” in the
Disciplinary Policy and Procedure section above). In the event that
AllPro Recruitment is notified of the grievance after an appeal hearing
has been held, a separate grievance meeting will be held.
6.3.2 Appeal
If the employee wishes to appeal, the employee should do so within
five (5) working days of written notification of the decision of the
disciplinary hearing. The appeal should be in writing and should state
the grounds upon which the appeal is based. The appeal should be
addressed to the Managing Director. An Appeal can be made on the
following grounds:
• Where the employee believes they have been unjustly found
against;
• Where the employee contends that a matter of fact has been
omitted or, if referred to at the disciplinary meeting, the fact has
not been properly taken into account in reaching the decision; or
• Where the employee contests the appropriateness of the type of
disciplinary action decided upon.
6.3.3 The Managing Director will decide on the most appropriate member
of Management to hear the appeal, this may include engaging outside
expertise. Arrangements to hear the appeal will normally be made
within 5 working days of receiving the written appeal from the
employee. AllPro Recruitment will endeavour to organise the date
