Chapter 22 Initial Startup Procedure

11) Foam Wax Setup
XR Foaming Package
Note: Settings below are only initial recommendations to start your XR triple foam. Actual
settings will vary with the chemicals used.

· Turn on the outputs for all 3 chemical pumps and adjust stroke rate (small knob) to 100%. Set stroke length (large
knob) to 60 %, and turn the outputs back to automatic.
· Open fully, the 3 brown gate valves on the Foam Wax manifold of the SDM.
· Make sure the blue handled ball valve is open for the Foam Wax (straight up)
· Set the Foam Wax fill time to 4 seconds
· Set the Foam Wax purge time to 5 seconds.
· Set the pump speed to 9% for the best package containing the Foam Wax pass. Put the front, middle, and back
speeds to 50%.
· Force Foam Wax until the chemical gets out to the pods and set the new XR Foamer regulator to 25 PSI.
· Run your best package twice to evaluate the Triple Foam coverage. Increase the pump speed to make the
chemical wetter. Decrease the pump speed to make it dryer. Adjust the air pressure and chemical pumps for
desired coverage, and chemical usage. If one color appears to have more volume than the others, the gray needle
valve can be closed slightly. These are only used if needed for fine balancing of each color. Adjusting chemical
pumps slightly can also help.
12) Set Sealer Wax/Drying Agent Stroke Length per Chemical Supplier specifications by identifying the dilution ratio for
Sealer Wax/Drying Agent.
13) Determine Chemical Pump setting percent using Table 6.2 later in this chapter. Dial in percent on pump.
