breaking; çauré—the Yamuna river; vaikuëöha—in the spiritual sky;
goloka—to Goloka Våndävana; gatä—gone; bhramanti—wanders;
våndävanam—the forest of Våndävana; sevitaum—to serve; älavälam—
stream for irrigation.
Passing the seven seas and seven planetary systems, and breaking
through the sevenfold covering of the universe, the Yamunä enters
the spiritual Goloka planet and wanders here and there to serve
Våndävana by carrying water.

yasyä jale düra-gatä gate 'pi
våndävanasyaiva samantataù syät
ävarta-lakñaà sthiti-lobha-lakñaà
yathä dhané-dväri su-lobhi-cittam
yasyäù—of which; jale—in the water; düra—from a great distance; gatä—
come; gate—gone; api—even; våndävanasya—of Våndävana; eva—
certainly; samantataù—on all sides; syät—is; ävarta—turns; lakñam—
with hundreds of thousands; sthiti—situation; lobha—greed; lakñam—
hundreds of thousands; yathä—just as; dhané—of a millionaire; dväri—at
the doorstep; su-lobhi—of a greedy person; cittam—consciousness.
Many greedy men will wait at a rich man's doorstep, hoping to meet
him and benefit hundreds of thousands of times over. In the same
way the Yamunä flows in a very winding course, greedy to get some
of the wealth of Våndävana forest.

yasyä asau çyäma-rasa-pravähaù
çyämasya taà çyäma-rasa-praväham
uddépayann eva nimajjayan syät
svasmiàç ca tasmiàç ca tadälibhis tam
yasyäù—of which; asau—this; çyäma-blue; rasa—of nectar; pravähaù—
stream; çyämasya—of Lord Çyämasundara; tam—this; uddépayan—
agitating; eva—certainly; nimajjayan—drowning; syät—is; svasàin—in
herself; ca—and; tasmin—in Him; ca—and; tat—his; alibhiù—with with
gopé—friends; tam—that.
