Çré Vraja-réti-cintämaëi

            The dark nectar current of the Yamunä picks up Lord Kåñëa and
            plunges Him and His gopé friends in the dark nectar current of
            transcendental amorous pastimes.



                                         Text 44

                               yasyäh praväheñv api jéva-jätä
                            muhur muhur mastakam ürdhvayanti
                              didåkñavaù çyäma-raseñu magnä
                             çyämägamäçäìki-dhiyeva mugdhäù


               yasyäù—of which; praväheñu—in the stream; api—also; jéva-jätäù—living
               entities; muhuù muhuù—constantly; mastakam—head; urdhvayanti—
               raisede; didåkñavaù—eager to see; çyäma—of Lord Çyämasundara; raseñu—
               in the nectar of love; magnäù—immersed; çyäma—Lord Çyämasundara;
               ägamana—arrival; asänki—expecting; dhiyä—with the intelligence;
               mugdhäù—charming and innocent.

            Many charming aquatic creatures, plunged in the nectar of love for
            Kåñëa, again and again push their heads above the Yamunä's waters,
            hoping for a glimpse of Lord Çyäma.

                            yasyä dvayoù sundara-pärçvayos täù
                                sopäna-mäle vara-ratna-jäle
                             çobhäkhya-devyä iva danta-paìkté
                             çré-kåñëa-susmäraka-çuddha-çakté


               yasyaù—of which; dvayoù—on both; sundara—beautiful;  pärçvayoù—
               sides; täù—are; sopäna—maäle—two staircases; çobhä—beauty; akhya—
               named; devyäù—of the goddess; iva—like; danta—of teeth; paìkté—row;
               çré—kåçna; of Çré Kåñëa; su-smäraka—remembering; çuddha—pure;
               çakté—potencies.

            On the Yamunä's beautiful shores are jewel staircases, which are
            like the teeth of the goddess of beauty, and which remind one of Çré
            Kåñëa.
