North of Nandéçvara is a forest where Lord Kåñëa enjoys secret
pastimes that are worshiped by six eager demigods in heaven.

yasmäd asau çré-yamunä vrajendor
didåkñayänu vrajam ävrajanté
nandéçvaränteñu gaveñayanté
babhräma taträsaralä bhavanté

yasmät—from that; asau—this; çré-yamunä—Yamunä river; vraja-indoù—
of Çré Kåñëa, the moon of Vraja; didåkñaya—with a desire to see; anu—
following; vrajam—Vraja; ävrajanti—goes; nandéçvara—Nandéçvara Hill;
anteñu—near; gaveçayanti—searching; babhräma—wanders; tatra—
there; asaralä—in a crooked course; bhavanti—is.

The Yamunä river passes through that forest and flows near
Nandéçvara Hill. It winds through Vraja in a very crooked course,
searching for Çré Kåñëa, the moon of Vraja.

yatrodakädi-grahana-ccalädyair
gopéjanäs te 'bhisaranti bhüyaù
gopé-priyo 'pi pravadanti gopé-
ghaööaà na ghaööaà kurute sa kaà vä

yatra—where; udaka-water; ädi-beginning with; grahana—for fetching;
chala-adyaiù—on various pretexts; gopéjanaù—the the gopés; te—they;
abhisaranti—meet; bhüyaù—repeatedly; gopé-priyaù—Çré Kåñëa, who
is very dear to the the gopés; api—also; pravadanti—they say; gopé-
ghaööam—gopé-ghaöa; na—not; ghattam—agitation; kurute—does; saù—
he; kam—what?; vä—or.

On the pretext of fetching water an other things, the the gopés
would go to that pastime forest and meet their beloved Kåñëa. They
