                                catvära eva taravaç caturñu
                              koëeñu yeñäm ubhayatra pärçve
                             dve dve late yäù kusumädibhis tän
                              äkramya ratnälayatäà prayätäù


               catväraù—four; eva—certainly; taravaù—trees; caturçu—in the four;
               koëeñu—corners; yeçäm—of which; ubhayatra—on both; pärçve—sides;
               dve dve—two; late—creepers; yäù—-which; kusuma-ädibhiù—with
               flowers and fruits; täë—them; äkramya—approaching; ratna—of jewels;
               alayatäm—position of having a cottage; prayätäù—attained.

            In the grove of Vraja there is a little clearing bounded on four sides
            by four kalpa-våkña trees, each covered by two flowering vines. In
            the center of this little courtyard is a cottage made of jewels.

                            stambhä drumäs te vadabhé ca teñäà
                           skandhäkhya-çäkhä-viöapaiç chadäàsi
                             tad-bhittayo dvaç ca latä vibhaìgya
                              pralamba-cüòä-kalasäni puñpaiù

               stambhäù—pillars; drumaù—trees; te—the; vadabhi—roof; ca—also;
               teñäm—of them; skandha—branches; akhya—named; çäkhä—branches;
               viöapaiù—and twigs; chadäàsi—covering; tat—of that; bhittayaù—the
               walls; dvay—door; ca—also; latäù—creepers; vibhaìgya—breaking;
               pralamba—suspended; cüòä—spires;  kalasäni—and domes; puçpaiù—
               with flowers.

            Four trees are the four pillars of this cottage. Their branches and
            twigs  are its roof, their  flowers its  domes and spires,  the vines
            clinging to their sides its walls, and the opening among the vines is
            its door.

                             evam-vidhaiù sundara-san-niveçaiù
                               kuïjäni sarvatra vane vraje 'pi
