BR-64 Brake system – service brake (air pressure)

g. Check the inside and outside diameters of the shoe shaft
lining and calculate their clearance. If their clearance is
beyond the specified limit, change the faulty part.
Front standard value: 0.16~0.22mm
Wearing limit value: 0.45mm

Rear standard value: 0.16~0.26mm

Wearing limit value: 0.56mm

h. Place the front brake shoe assembly on the friction disc
rivet punching machine.
i. Move the front brake shoe assembly to allow the rivet
head part to be aligned with the cutting head of the
punching machine and operate the punching machine to
cut off the friction disc's fixing rivet.
j. Move the front brake shoe assembly to an appropriate
location and cut off the other fixing rivets of the friction
disc.

k. Punch out the rivet remainings in the friction disc.

l. Hit the edge of the friction disc using a rubber hammer,
so as to loosen the friction disc, and then remove it.
