Front Brake Shoes IN

Check and repair DI
Caution

The same procedure is adopted to repair both the left and right brake shoes.

1. Dismount the front wheel hub (refer to Chapter AX axle, drive shaft-front axle/front drive
axle-front wheel hub, replacement”)

2. Removal of front brake shoe assembly

a. Cut off the fixing iron wire on the shoe shaft's lock AX
bolt.

b. Remove the shoe shaft's lock nut with a wrench.

c. Rotate the shoe shaft around the shoe shaft hole
leftward and rightward to allow it to be loose.Then, pull
it out.
Caution
The rear brake shoe shaft can be pulled out using the
puller.

d. If the brake shoe shaft's pin is too tight or corroded, it
is necessary to drill a hole at the brake shoe shaft position
in the brake bottom plate and punch out the brake shoe
shaft from the front brake shoe assembly.
Caution
Do not exert an excessive force. Otherwise, the part

may be damaged or deformed.
