18.Install the camshaft

a. Apply assembly lubricant to the rear camshaft hole.

b. Lubricate the camshaft cams, journals, and thrust washers
with mounting lubricant.

c. Attach the gear puller or equivalent to the end of the
camshaft with camshaft gear wheel as a handle and it will
lay the proper leverage for the installation of the camshaft.

d. Install the camshaft. While pushing gently, rotate the
camshaft and carefully pass the camshaft through the camshaft
bushing. When each camshaft journal passes through the
bushing, the camshaft slightly sinks and the camshaft cam is
fixed in the bushing. Rotating the camshaft will disengage
the cam from the bushing so that the camshaft can be installed.
Caution
Do not force the camshaft into the camshaft hole, which
can damage the camshaft bushing.

e. Install thrust plate and fix with bolt.
Torque: 24N•m
