EG - 156 Engine section – Engine (Cummins ISF3.8)

Engine oil pump
Check and repair
1. Disassemble the drain plug and drain the engine oil (see "Chapter EG Engine Section - Engine -
Lubrication System - Engine Oil, Replacement")

2. Disassemble the oil pump

a. Disassemble the driving belt.
b. Disassemble the fixing bolts of the belt pulley of the
crankshaft and remove the belt pulley of the crankshaft.

c. Disassemble the oil sump tank. (See Chapter EG "Engine
Parts - Engine - Lubrication System- Oil Sump Tank,
Replacement")

d. Disassemble the fixing bolts of the oil pump and remove
the assembly and gasket of the oil pump.
Caution

Record the location of the three longer bolts for easy
installation.

e. After removing the oil pump, replace the oil seal of
camshaft and the front oil seal of crankshaft.
