6. Adjust the meshing mark of the driving and the driven gears.
a. Apply red lead powder to the teeth surface of the driving and the driven gear, and check contact prints after
rotating. If the contact pattern of driven gear tooth surface is found to have crest truncation, root truncation, or
beyond the range of convex and concave requirements, the adjustment shims of driving gear or the left and
the right adjustment nut of differential must be adjusted so that the position of contact pattern is in the slightly
smaller end of the middle of the tooth length direction and separate from the smaller end, and in the upper
middle of the tooth height direction and separate from the crest, with oval shape, and the area accounts for
about half of the tooth surface, and the convex and concave surface is in basic symmetry.
b. The adjustment bearing preload, backlash, and gear contact prints may need to try a number of times. The
oil seal, the cotter pin locking flange nut should not be installed until adjusted appropriately.

c. Remove the fixing bolts of differential bearing cover.
d. Remove the locking tab and bolt.
e. Loosen the two fixing bolts on the bearing cover.
f. Loosen the fixing bolts of bearing cover on the other
side of the driven gear as described above.
