AX-74 Axles, Transmission Shafts - Rear Axle

13. Install the rear hub and brake drum

a. Install the rear hub and brake drum assembly to the
rear brake.

b. Fill the hub outer bearing roller with lithium-based
grease, with the bearing surface coated evenly.

c. Install the hub outer bearing filled with grease onto the
hub and push the bearing into place with a punch.
Caution

Be careful not to injure the shaft threads and
bearings when punch the bearing.

d. Install the adjustment nut of rear hub bearing, tighten
the adjustment nut of hub bearing with the hub shaft
sleeve. Then rotate the brake drum 2 to 3 turns, tighten
the adjustment nut again and then loosen the adjustment
nut to 1/8 ~ 1/6 turns in the reverse direction.

e. After the brake drum is knocked with a copper rod all
around, there should be no parts rubbing against the
brake drum.Wrap a rope around the tire bolt and use a
spring tensioner to measure whether the preload of
rear wheel hub bearing is within the specified range.
Preload of rear hub bearing: 80~120N
