b. Check the axle shaft spline for cracks or spline

teeth wear, if any, and then replace the axle shaft.

c. Place the axle shaft on a V-stage and use a dial

indicator to check the bending of axle shaft.
• Check the radial runout error of the unprocessed
cylinder in the middle of axle shaft. FR
Gap for reference: 1.5mm
• Check the runout error of the end face inside axle shaft flange.

Gap for reference: 0.1mm

If the radial runout and end face runout exceed the limits,

then the correction should be made. The replacement of
axle shaft depends on the actual situation.
3. Install axle shaft BW

a. Apply a proper amount of lithium-based grease on the
oil seal lip of axle shaft. EL

b. Using a rubber hammer push the oil seal gently.
Caution

Do not knock with metal hammer when assemble, the
oil seal cannot be deformed, and if it is, it should be
replaced.

c. Install the axle shaft into the rear axle housing.

Caution

Avoid axle shaft bumping against the rear axle
housing.
