               33. Moshe [then] left Pharaoh’s presence, ·íÒ¼ÐþÔtó¥Ì¼Ñôí •ÓLô ê·Ñ®ÑiÔî .èñ            throughout the entire land of Egypt, óÌ−¢ÖþЮÌô±Óþ¤Óê-ñÖ×Ða
                                  and left the city. þ− fl̼Öí-³Óê                                       the likes of which there never was íÖ³flÖ−ÐíÌòêÕ¤ñ ·eíÒ·ôÖkþ¥ÓLÎê

         and the hail and the rain did not reach the earth. :íÖ®ÐþÞÖêC'ÔzÌò-ê ÞGþ£Ö¬Öôe ð flÖþÖaÔíÐî  a dog will not sharpen its tongue [growl] BflòÒLÐñ ·ëÓñ·Ók-±ÔþÍìÞÓ−ê¥G
                   AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RASHI  é"ùø AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA  at man or animal. í¢ÖôÑíÐ a-ðÔ¼ÐîL−£ÌêÑôÐñ

                         and were still soft [and pliable]  ³BkÔþe−Öíö−Ì−ÔðμÔî                                        Similarly “±ÔþÖìêG  ±ÔþÖìêG
                               and were able to stand  ðBôμÔñ ³BñB×−Ìî                       his tongue towards any man of the B’nei Yisroel.” 20  BòBLÐñ³ÓêL−ÌêÐññÑêÖþÐNÌ−−ÑòÐëÌñ
                     [even] in the face of [a] hard [blow].  .íÓLÖš−ÑòÐõÌa                               [±ÔþÖìêG meaning:] He did not sharpen.  ,öÑpÌLêG
                           Although it has been stated:  þÔôÍêÓpÓL−ÌtñÔ¼¹ÔêÐî                 [or:] ±ÏþÓìÓzïÖê—“ Then you will utter a sharp sound. 21  ,öÑpÔzÐLÌz±ÖþÍìÓzïÖê

       “All the vegetation in the fields was struck by the hail” 46  ,ðÖþÖaÔííÖkÌííÓðÖOÔíëÓNѼñÖk³ÓêÐî  [or:] ±eþÖìèÔþBôÐñ —“ A sharp thresher.”  ,öeòÖL Z ±eþÖìèÔþBôÐñ

              one can explain the plain meaning of the verse  êÖþКÌôñÓL B¬eLÐtLÑþÖõÐñLÑ−     [or:] “±eþÖì ³BëÐLÐìÔô” —“ The thoughts of a sharp one”  ±eþÖì ³BëÐLÐìÔô
                           as referring to the vegetation  ó−ÌëÖNμÖa                               [±eþÖì meaning:] a sharp and clever person.  ,öeòÖLÐî¹−ÌþÖìóÖðÖê
                  that stood in their stalks (i.e., were ripe),  ,óÖìÐñÌšÐaó−ÌðÐôB¼Öí         [or:] “You bring wealth to the hand of the ó−Ì®eþÖì” 24  þ−ÌLμÔzó−Ì®eþÖìðÔ−Ðî
               and were vulnerable to be broken by the hail.  .ðÖþÖaÔa ³BšÐñÌñó−Ì−eêÐþÖí     [ó−Ì®eþÖì meaning:] the clever ones—sharp merchants.  :ó−ÌòeòÐLó−ÌþÎìB½ ,ó−Ìõ−ÌþÎì
                 [However], in Midrash Rabbi Tanchuma, 47  êÖôeìÐòÔ³−ÌaÔþLÔþÐðÌôÐëe                          That Adonoy distinguishes.  .äÆìÀôÇéøÆLÂà
                              some Sages dispute this  ,³êÒïñÔ¼ ešÐñÐìÓpÓL eò−ѳBaÔþÑôLÑ−               [íÓñÐõÔ− means] He will make a distinction.  :ñ−ÌcÐëÔ−
                       and explain ³ÒG−ÌõÎê−Ìk [as meaning]  Z ³G−ÌõÎê−ÌkeLÐþÖ ðÐî              [8] Then all your servants will come down  .EéÆãÈáÂò-ìÈëeãÀøÞÈéÀå [ç]
