 28. Yaakov lived in the land of Egypt óÌ− flÔþЮÌô±Óþ¤ÓêÐa·ëҚμÞÔ−−¥ÌìÐ−Ôî .ì×  46 1. Yisrael journeyed with all that he possessed, B flñ-þÓLÎê-ñÖ×Ðî·ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−¼¥ÔqÌiÔî.ê åî

 The days of Yaakov, the years of his life î−flÖiÔì−¤ÑòÐL·ëҚμÞÔ−-−ÑôÐ−−¥ÌíÐ−Ôî  He offered sacrifices [there] ó− flÌìÖëÐïì¤ÔaÐïÌiÔî

 29. The days of Yisrael’s death drew near, ›³eôÖñ ‡ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−-−ÞÑôÐ−e¤ëÐþÐ šÌiÔî .¬×  2. Elohim said to Yisrael ·ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−Ðñ|ó−¥ÌíGÍêþÓôê¶ÒiÔî.ë
 and he called for his son Yoseif, and said to him, ·Bñ þÓôê¥ÒiÔѽB−ÐñB¤òÐëÌñ|ê¤ÖþКÌiÔî  in a night vision, íÖñÐ− flÔlÔí³¤ÒêÐþÔôÐa                                             BERESHIT
 “If I have found favor in your eyes, E−flÓò−ѼÐa·öÑì−̳ê¥Ö®Öôê¶Öò-óÌê  and He said, “Yaakov, Yaakov.” ë¢ÒšÎ¼ÞÔ−|ë¤ÒšÎ¼ÞÔ−þÓôê£ÒiÔî
 please, place your hand under my thigh; −¢Ì×ÑþÐ−³Ôì¤Ôz £EÐðÞÖ−ê'Öò-ó−ÌN  And he said, “Here I am.” :−ÌòÞÑpÌíþÓôê£ÒiÔî
                       3. He said “I am the Almighty, ñ£ÑêÖí−'Ì ×ÒòÞÖêþÓôê–ÕiÔî.è

 [28] Yaakov lived.  .áÉ÷ÂòÇééÄçÀéÇå [çë]  Do not be afraid to do down to Egypt, íÖôÐ− flÔþЮÌôí¤ÖðÐþÞÑô·êÖþ−Ìz-ñÔê
 Why is this portion [of the Torah] completely closed? 1  ?íÖôe³Ð½BïíÖLÖþÖõíÖôÖñ  for there I will make you into a great nation. :óÞÖL 'EÐô−ÞÌNÎêñB£ðÖb−B'èÐñ-−ÞÌk
 This is because once our father Yaakov died  ,eò−ÌëÖêëҚμÔ−þÔ¬ÐõÌpÓLöÖî−ÑkÓL−ÌõÐñ  4. I will go down with you to Egypt, íÖôÐ− flÔþЮÌô·EÐn̼ð¥ÑþÑê−†Ì×ÒòÞÖê.ð
 the eyes and hearts of Israel were “closed”  ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−ñÓLóÖaÌñÐîóÓí−Ñò−ѼeôÐzнÌò
 because of the misery of the bondage  ,ðeaмÌMÔí³ÔþÖvÌô  and I will also surely bring you up again. í¢GÖ¼-óÔè ¤EÐñÔ¼ÞÔê−£Ì×ÒòÞÖêÐî
 for they [the Egyptians] began to subjugate them. 2  ;óÖðÐaмÔLÐñ eñ−ÌìгÌíÓL

                Much joy and pleasure is still in store for me  ,íÖîÐðÓìÐîíÖìÐôÌN ðB¼ −ÌñëÔþ
 Everyone of whom it is said that his “days drew near”  ,³eôÖñíÖë−ÌþКBëíÖþÐôÍêÓpÓL−ÌôñÖk
                           since my son Yoseif, is alive.  :−Öì−ÌòÐa¹Ñ½B− ðB¼Ðîñ−ÌêBí

 Concerning Dovid, it states “drew near”;  .íÖë−ÌþКþÔôÍêÓòðÌîÖcÐa  [¼ÔëÖMíÖþÑêÐa] is the same as ¼ÔëÖLþÑêÐëÌñ.  ,¼ÔëÓLþÑêÐëÌñBôÐk

             [The repetition of Yaakov] is a term of affection.  :íÖaÌì öBLÐñ
