 30. In the cave that is in the field of Machpeilah, í§ÖñÑtÐ×ÔnÔíí«ÑðÐNÌaþ ¶ÓLÎêí„ÖþÖ¼ÐnÔa.ñ  and there they eulogized [him and held] ó flÖL-eðÐtн¶ÌiÔî
 which faces Mamrei in the land of Canaan; öÔ¼¢ÖòÐk±Óþ¤ÓêÐaê£ÑþÐôÔô−'ÑòÐt-ñÔ¼-þÓLÎê  a very great and imposing funeral. ð¢ÒêÐôð£ÑëÖ×ÐîñB'ðÖbð§ÑtнÌô

 32. The purchase of the field í§ÓðÖOÔíí«ÑòКÌô .ëñ

                          with hedges of thorns [ö−ÌðÖ¬Îê].  ,íÖ−Öíö−ÌðÖ¬Îê
 and he gathered up his feet, to the bed. í¢ÖhÌnÔí-ñÓêî−£ÖñÐèÔþ¹'Ò½ÍêÞÓiÔî  Our Sages explained 218  [that it was so called]  ,eLÐþÖð eò−ѳBaÔþÐî

 50 1. Yoseif fell on the face of his father, î−¢ÌëÖê−¤ÑòÐt-ñÔ¼¹£Ñ½B− ñ'ÒtÌiÔî.ê ð  when all the kings of Canaan and princes of Yishmael came  ñêѼÖôÐLÌ−−Ñê−ÌNÐòe öÔ¼ÔòÐ×−Ñ×ÐñÔôñÖ×eêÖaÓL

 2. Yoseif commanded his servants, the physicians, ó− flÌêÐõ¤ÒþÖí-³Óê·î−ÖðÖëμ-³Ó깥ѽB− î¶Ô®Ð−Ôî.ë
                         hanging from Yaakov’s casket,  ëҚμÔ−ñÓL BòBþÎêÔa −eñÖz
 to embalm his father. î−¢ÌëÖê-³ÓꬣÒòÎìÞÔñ  they all rose and hung their crowns from it  ,óÓí−ÑþгÌ×BëeñÖ³ÐîöÖle× eðÐôÖ¼

      like a threshing floor that is surrounded by a hedge of thorns.  :ó−Ì®Bš ñÓLè−Ö−н¹ÖwenÔíöÓþBèÐk
 also has the meaning of “bringing in.”  :íÖ½ÖòÐ×Ôí öBLÐñê−Ìí¹Ôê  [12] As he commanded them.  .íÈeÄöøÆLÂàÇk [áé]
 To my fathers.  .éÈúÉáÂàìÆà  What was it that he commanded them? 219  ?óÖeÌ®þÓLÎêeíÔôe
 [−Ö³ÕëÎê-ñÓê means:] with my fathers.  :−Ö³BëÎêó̼  [13] His sons carried him.  .åéÈðÈáBúÉàeàÀNÄiÇå [âé]
 [33] And he gathered up his feet.  .åéÈìÀâÇøóÉñÁàÆiÇå [âì]  [Only his sons] and not his grandsons.  ,î−ÖòÖë−ÑòÐëêGÐî
 [Meaning:] he brought in his feet. 212  :î−ÖñÐèÔþ½−ÌòÐ×Ìí  For he commanded them as follows:  ,óÖeÌ®CÔkÓL
 He expired and was gathered.  .óÆñÈàÅiÇåòÇåÀâÄiÇå  “Let no Egyptian carry my bier  −ÌþЮÌôL−ÌêêG−̳ÖhÌôeêÐOÌ−ñÔê
 But “death” is not mentioned concerning Yaakov,  ,Bë íÖþÐôÍêÓòêGíÖ³−Ìôe  nor any of your sons  ,óÓ×−ÑòÐaÌôðÖìÓêêGÐî
 whichledourSagestostate:OurfatherYaakovdidnotdie. 213  :³Ñô êG eò−ÌëÖêëҚμÔ− :eò−ѳBaÔþeþÐôÖêÐî  for they are [born] from Canannite women,  ,öÔ¼ÔòÐk ³BòÐaÌôóÑíÓL
