          ments, on Wednes-
          day 5 June, at half
          past three, they
opened a banner with the inscription “We will not let the bosses
of Kazova Textiles, Umit Somuncu and Mustafa Umut Somuncu,
take away our rights” and shouting the slogan “We don’t want
charity, we want our rights we are workers, we are right, we will
win” they came to Calik Holding in the Zincirlikuyu district (Is-
tanbul). In the statement they issued they said:

“Gaye Somuncu had said when the Mavi Marmara set out
that ‘I cannot sleep when my neighbour is hungry’ and at every
opportunity she laid stress on ‘equality’ and ‘justice’. Why don’t
you show this sensitivity to workers cast out into the street by your
          father and your elder brother?”

After the statement was read out one of the company’s offi-

cials came down and called three of the workers to come inside.
During this time a sit-down action took place. During the conver-
sation, which lasted half an hour, Gaye Somuncu said, “I do not
talk to my family. Since 2010 we have been apart. I can get a lawyer
to talk to you, but if you come here next week I will not be here.
I am resigning.” They responded, “We are sending a reply after
we talk to our friends and lawyers.” The action ended after the
          conversation.
