Kazova Workers Are Continuing To Resist

On Wednesday 5 June, the Kazova workers assembled in
front of Sisli mosque and opened a banner with the words “We
will not let the bosses of Kazova Textiles, Umit Somuncu and

Mustafa Umut Somuncu, take away our rights” and marched to
the tent pitched in front of the factory in Bomonti. They chanted
this slogan as they marched towards the factory: “We won’t let
Umit Somuncu take away our rights, we don’t want charity, we
want our rights we are workers, we are right, we will win”. They
made the following statement:

“We have been resisting for four months to receive wages, sen-
iority and notice. Our bosses are not seeing us. But we will show

them that running away will not do them any good,” they said.
After shouting their slogans they announced they would be back
same time next week and ended the action.

This Resistance Will Win

The Kazova textile workers, who for months have been resist-
ing the taking away of their rights, gathered in Taksim Square on
Wednesday 5 June between 6 pm and 8 pm to support the Taksim

resistance and distributed leaflets to expose their bosses Umit So-
muncu and Mustafa Umut Somuncu.

The workers stayed for about two hours in Gezi Park, Taksim,
handed out about 1,500 leaflets and gained a good deal of sup-
port. Cem TV did an interview with the workers and they chatted
to a large number of people.
