Understanding of genetics is still quite expanding our outreach to increase
low amongst the general public and the impact of what we do.
we are conducting some research
into the public’s perception of genetic
disorders. As one of the mothers of
an affected child often says, “With
understanding, comes awareness. And
with awareness, comes support”. This
is very true, as new drugs/treatments
are increasingly produced, but without
support from the public to push for
critical governmental policies to make
these drugs/treatments available,
those affected will be left without
appropriate medical care. We are also
working with the mainstream media on
medical/scientific communication to
improve reporting on these conditions Research Activities
so as to avoid negative reporting.
