ADDITIONAL VACATION
Team members may apply for vacation in addition to their annual vacation entitlement in
the form of an unpaid Leave of Absence.
PERSONAL DAYS
Team members are entitled to two paid personal days each year. Personal days allow
team members time away from work to attend to personal needs such as appointments,
childcare, eldercare or to attend special events. Personal days cannot be used on
consecutive days and cannot be used adjacent to vacation days or legislated public
holidays.
WORKING FROM HOME
Team members are required to obtain authorization to work from home from their
Manager at least 1 day in advance. Working from home will not be authorized if it
interferes with a team member’s ability to perform their daily tasks and functions, or
with critical times such as month end, during company meetings, training or other
events. Team members must be accessible via phone and email (internet connection
must be available) while working from home.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Jim Peplinski Leasing recognizes that inclement weather and other emergencies can
affect a team member’s ability to travel to work. Team member safety is Jim Peplinski
Leasing’s primary concern. In the event that inclement weather or other extreme
situations cause dangerous travel conditions, team members should notify their
managers, avoid travel and work remotely (from home or other) until the situation has
been resolved. In order to be prepared for an occurrence like this, team members with
company issued laptop computers and mobile devices are required to take these items
with them on a daily basis.
SICK DAYS & SICK LEAVE
If you are sick, you are required to call your supervisor at the start of the business day so
that the necessary arrangements can be made to minimize disruption to departmental
workflow. If you are sick for greater than two consecutive business days you may be
asked to provide a written statement from a Medical Doctor confirming that you are
under the care of a Medical Doctor, your inability to attend and perform work, and
the estimated date of your return to work.
Jim Peplinski Leasing allows for a maximum of 6 sick days per year per employee. Sick
days can only be used when a team member is sick, or requires recovery relating to a
medical procedure. Sick days cannot be used in combination with vacation time or carried
forward to another year. Should your employment with JPLI cease for any reason, sick
