WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH

You, You are to be feared... Vow to the Lord your God and ful fill
                 them. (Psalms: 76:7-11)

I cried to the Lord with my voice... In the day of my troub le I
seek the Lord... I will re mem ber the works of the Lord: sure ly I

will re mem ber Your wond ers of old... I will make men tion of the
deeds of the Lord; yes, I will re mem ber Your wond ers of old. O
God, Your way is ho ly... You are the God Who does wond ers.
You have made Your strength known among the peo ples.
                 (Psalms: 77:1-14)

... We will not hide from their chil dren, tell ing to the gen er a tion
to come the prais es of Lord, and His strength, and His won -
drous works that He has done... That they might put their con -
fi dence in God, and not for get the works of God, but keep His
com mand ments; and might not be as their fa thers, a stub born
and re bel lious gen er a tion; a gen er a tion that set not their heart
aright, and whose spir it was not stead fast with God... They kept
not the cov e nant of God, and re fused to walk in His law; and they
for got His do ings, and His won drous works that He had shown

them. Marvelous things did He in the sight of their fa thers... He
cleaved the sea, and caused them to pass through; and He made
the wa ters to stand as a heap. By day al so He led them with a
cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. He cleaved rocks in
the wil der ness, and gave them drink abun dant ly as out of the
great deep. He brought streams al so out of the rock, and caused
wa ters to run down like riv ers. Yet went they on still to sin

against Him, to rebel against the Most High [God] in the desert.
And they tried God [surely God is be yond that] in their heart by
ask ing food for their crav ing. Yes, they spoke against God; they
