Introduction/Warm Up Aerobic warm up of large muscle groups and
cardiovascular system -
This unit will focus on the following: Definitions (from dictionary.com) Equipment: hula hoop, flashcard, music optional, carton 1 Big 5 Big
Endurance: the ability to endure an unpleasant or difficult process or
situation without giving way.
Coordination: Harmonious functioning of muscles or groups of muscles in
the execution of movements.
Learning Activities/Teaching Strategies
1. Set up – Teacher will put the setup in the classroom. Teacher will put all
the different alphabet on the floor.
2. Teacher will make students stand in teams maintaining discipline.
3. Teacher will start the class with the warm up Happy Feet.
4. Teacher will introduce and explain the activity to the class.
5. Teacher will distribute an alphabet set among the students, making sure
that each student receives the same amount of cards.
6. Each student places their cards, face up, in a line leading away from
them (make sure that the lines are evenly spaced).
7. Teacher call out a letter (you can either pick one at random or go
through the alphabet in order).
8. If a student has that letter as the next one in line they take a step Assessment Ideas: A – Student's ability to maintain personal space

9. Be creative and invent actions for different action card etc. for Cho's. C – student’s ability to recall action associated with each term
Call out "stop!" and get the kids to freeze. D – student’s Increased heart rate can be assessed through students
10. The team that finishes first are champion. feeling their pulse quickly during and after the activity.
11. Repeat the activity once the kids reaches your end. Select the student
again and repeat the same.
