GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

2.10.4 Lighting Control
All lighting will be controlled under the dictates of the Trend IQ3 controller, which will be
fitted to a purpose built mechanical control panel. Lighting will be controlled in the
following groups:
• C1 50% lobby lighting
• C2 50% lobby lighting
• C3 Emergency lighting
• C4 Signage
• C5 Car park and external lighting
All relays and contactors to control the lighting via the Trend IQ3 panel will be supplied
and installed by the Electrical Contractor in a purpose made assembly. Contactors will be
SP&N rated at 40A, suitable for switching inductive loads. Lighting contactors shall be as
manufactured by Schneider Electric, their catalogue reference 2-pole; GC4020B5, 4-pole;
GC4040B5.
The Electrical Contractor shall provide a 150VA, 240/24volt transformer power supply for
the actuation of control relays and contactors, the primary supply to the transformer will
be fitted with an in-line fuse rated at 10A, the secondary will be fused at 6A. The
transformer will be fitted in a ventilated metal enclosure and will be located in the
electrical distribution cupboard.
In addition to the above, the following areas shall have local lighting control by ceiling or
wall mounted PIR movement sensor:
• Managers office
• Store room
• Public toilets
• Crew room
• Crew toilets
• Toilet duct
• BoH corridor
• Switch room
• Plantrooms generally
• Corral
• Roof plant area
In addition to the above the lobby lights adjacent to the South facing windows will be
controlled by a local, ceiling mounted photocell, in bright sunlight the lights adjacent to
the windows will be switched off. The lux level for switching is to be determined during
commissioning.
