GENERAL ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

2.10.5 Security Lighting
Two luminaires in the Restaurant and Kitchen areas are designated as security lights,
permanently ON. These shall be separately wired on the emergency lighting inverter
supply.
An interface shall be provided between the HVAC control panel and intruder alarm
system, when un-authorised entry to the building is detected all the store lights will be
switched ON. The lights will be switched OFF when the alarm is reset at the HVAC panel.
2.10.6 External Lighting & Signage
Where the works to the electrical distribution require the temporary disconnection of the
external lighting circuitry, the existing circuitry and controls are to be extended as
necessary and re–instated as originally installed.
2.11 EMERGENCY LIGHTING
The Electrical Contractor shall supply and install a complete emergency lighting system to
satisfy the requirements of BS 5266-1.
It should be noted that all luminaires will be installed and tested by the Electrical
Contractor.
Luminaires shall be either: -
a. integral with the general lighting luminaires by use of a converter pack(free issue)
or
b. surface mounted self-contained units(supplied by LAUK)
or
c. recessed independent luminaires with battery and inverter units (as supplied by
LAUK)
Emergency luminaires shall be wired on permanently live feeds directly from the main L.V.
distribution equipment. The restaurant lighting circuits shall be fed via one circuit in the
Schneider bus bar trunking system or LSF single core cables in conduit and trunking.
Emergency lights are to operate on mains failure, phase failure and local circuit failure.
The emergency lighting circuit shall be controlled via relays and contactors mounted on
the top of distribution boards controlled via the trend IQ3 controller panel. This control
arrangement provides the necessary final circuit monitoring and test facilities.
Contactors shall be as described for lighting control.
