                           enclosure to P.C.L's lettor No.PCN.5/8815 of 6th December, 1949,
                           from the Adviser.

                           2. I think tho Shaikh's action in this matter is absolutely
intolerable and ugree with you that,ns you suld on the tele
phone, we will have to‘weigh into him heavily about it.
Before doing so however I hod a word with Jackson, who is
acting for 'I.erinitte, and told him he might talk to Belgrave
provided ho kept mo informed. Ho has Just telephoned to
say that he put tho Company's point of view to Belgrave
who said that he would lay it before the Shaikh on tho day
aftor to-morrow - as usuul in this case Belgrave -was:, quite
non committal and gave tho impression of being helpless which

tea is about what he is Y/hen the Shuikh takes a bit in his
 , !
mouth about Zubarah. Belgrave lias also spoken to me and
said that he would put the Company's view to the Shaikh and
                           let me know tho result.
                           2. One thing I suggested to Jackson was that he might ask
without prejudice that tho execution of the Shuikh's order
bo postponed so that tho use of tho plor is not Gtoppod while
discussions about It are going on.
                                                                     3. .

                         Sir nuport Hay, K.C.I.E., C.S.X.,
