Exchanging a compactor skip

1. Enter site, sign in at security, I.D. may be required. Make your way to the compactor, observing
vehicles and pedestrians as you do so, (5 mph speed limit).

Observe “MY SPACE” If in doubt STOP

2. Make sure the area where the compactor is
located is clear of obstructions. Reverse
towards the compactor, extend boom, latch
on to the lifting bar of the compactor, push
back with truck, then apply hand brake,
switch off engine and remove keys. Bin will
move forward when detached from ram
unless the truck is used to stop it.

3. Activate compactor ram in tip/pin mode,
press and hold the pin off button until the machine stops. Then put bin lift in up position, then use
both pins to hold waste in place by inserting one either side of the door in the slots, then clip pins
secure, once done, release both locking bars and make sure they are not fouling bin door. Press the
Start button to return the blade.

4. Lift bin approximately 6 inches from the floor, pull forward to clear ram, insert spare locking tube in
to ram and retract ram in to main body by using the control panel, use sheet to prevent any waste
from escaping, ensure no gaps around edge to prevent debris falling from vehicle while being driven,
protective eyewear should be used while carrying out this operation as waste is under pressure and
may fly out.
