17. Leave that is categorized as sudden leave is only the first day of
conseistirahatve leaves that are taken without prior written
approval.
Article 22
Maternity / Miscarriage Leave
Pregnant employees are entitled to maternity leave for 3 months
while still receiving full wages with the following conditions:
1. In order to prevent unexpected things from happening, maternity
leave must be taken no later than 10 working days before the due
date estimated by the doctor.
2. Maternity leave must be taken 1½ months before the due date
and 1½ months after the due date.
3. Upon the written request of the Employees and a statement
signed by her husband stating the reasons and supported by the
written consent of her obstetrician, Management may consider
allowing the Employees to take a break deviating from the time
stipulations above.
4. In the event of miscarriage (a) when the pregnancy has reached 6
months or more, or (b) abnormal premature delivery, or (c) legal
abortion due to medical reason as stated in writing by an
obstetrician, the female Employee concerned is entitled to 1.5
months miscarriage leave starting from the date of the
miscarriage. All three conditions above must be proven by a
doctor's certificate.
5. Maternity or miscarriages leave shall not reduce Employee’s
annual leave entitlement.
6. Maternity or miscarriages leave shall not affect Employee’s
performance evaluation.
