11. Fold the spreadsheet down from head halfway, then fold sideways in half, place it on
                       the chair. Do the same thing with the blanket
                   12. Roll the soiled draw sheet and rubber close to the patient’s back
                   13. Roll the dirty bottom sheet close to the patient.
                   14. Put on a clean bottom sheet or use the top sheet. Centerfold at the center of the bed,
                       rolling the top half close to the patient, tucking the top and bottom ends in tightly, and
                       mitering the corner.
                   15. Put a clean rubber sheet over the rolled bottom sheet and straighten it.
                   16. Place clean draw sheet with the centerfold at the center of the bed, rolling exactly half
                       close to the patient's back. Make cuff over the upper edge of the rubber sheet, Tuck in
                       draw sheet rubber sheet and bottom sheet tightly and smoothly all alongside the bed.
                   17. Turn the patient towards you, on to the clean sheet and comfortable on the edge of the
                       bed, Hold bed linen so it does not touch the floor, and make sure the patient is covered.
                   18. Go to the opposite side of the bed, taking basin and wash clothes with you, and given
                       back care.
                   19. Remove the dirty sheet gently and place the dirty pillowcase in a humper but not on the
                       floor.
                   20. Remove the dirty bottom sheet & unroll the clean one. Tuck in at ends tightly & miter
                       corners.
                   21. Unroll the rubber sheet and clean the draw sheet. Pull both together tight and smooth
                       and tuck in at side with the bottom sheet.
                   22. Turn the patient and make the position comfortable.
                   23. Change the pillow slip and replace it by lifting the patient's head.
                   24. If the top sheet is to be changed, place a clean sheet over the top sheet and ask the
                       patient to hold it. Go to the foot of the bed and pull the dirty top sheet out.
                   25. Pleat the top sheet at the bottom to give space for his feet.
                   26. When the room is cool, leave blankets. Replace spreadsheet.
                   27. Straighten top sheet, replace or strengthen blankets. Replace spreadsheet. Miter corners.
                       Tuck in along sides for low bed. Leave sides hanging on high-beds. Fold spread under
                       the top of blankets, and the top sheet down over the blanket at the head of the bed.
                   28. Loosen top beading over the patient's toes. Be sure the patient is comfortable. Wash
                       bedside table. Remove dirty linen, leaving room or ward unit in order.
                   29. Wash hands after changing soiled beds.



                       6.4 Anesthetic bed
                               An anesthetic bed is prepared for a patient recovering from anesthesia.
                       Purpose
                       To facilitate the easy transfer of the patient from stretcher to bed.
