Truth to Teach
To learn about the life of an earthworm
To set up a wormery
Way to Work
1. Review the two previous lessons by conducting a quiz.
2. Take the children outside to find earthworms then give time for the children to observe
them. Discuss the way worms aerate the soil for gardeners and farmers.
3. Use a fish tank and create a wormery to observe over a period of time.
Wormery: Alternate layers of sand, soil, gravel with leaves scattered on the top. Put
in the worms.
4. Let the children write about the wormery and any other information they can find out
about earthworms from the internet, books, etc.
5. Gather to review the lesson.
Learning for Life
The pupils will appreciate the usefulness of such creatures and God’s wisdom in creating them.
