Q.S.S.S.S.A. CARNIVAL
Again this year the Zone Carnival was used as the basis for selecting
finalists for the State Secondary School Championships held at Lang Park on
Saturday, 27th September. Field events were held at Cleveland, while track
events were run off at Lang Park. The following competitors qualified for the

In addition. F. Holpen was awarded the Under 13 Zone Championship and
T. Redfern the Under 14 Championship. Our congratulations go to these two
boys for their outstanding effort.
Unfortunately the size of the Q.S.S.S.S.A. Carnival excluded the com
petition from the Under 13 age group. However, we expect some good perform
ances from them next year.
In the Zone Competition, the boys ran second to Cavendish Road High
School and the girls ran fourth. Total points placed us as third school in the
Zone. Due to the fine efforts put up by our finalists, the team recorded over
60 points in the Championship Day. This is by far our best effort for some
years and augurs well for the future.
