4) Attends to sick students and employees, refers them to the school physician for diagnosis, and
isolates them in case of communicable diseases; coordinates with Principal / class adviser or
Dean and Head of the Student Affairs to enable them to inform respective parents of students
on procedures undertaken on the ailing student and his/her current condition and to generate
from them decisions on what next to undertake.
5) Relays to relevant school authorities the Doctor’s advise on sending students and employees
home, or excusing their absence from classes or office work as a result of illness or accident.
6) Assists the physicians and dentists during the actual conduct of physical examination for
athletes joining meets, opens, and intramurals, and for students on athletic scholarship.
7) Prepares and releases medical certificates and health records to students and employees upon
request and as authorized by the physician.
8) Monitors, with the guidance of the physician, possible outbreak of infections diseases to be
able to contain them before they get to alarming level by undertaking information campaign
on preventive measures; provides recommendations to take in relation to prevailing situation.
9) Provides assistance in the implementation of government-initiated health programs such as
immunization and mandatory drug testing within the school setting.
10) Coordinates the school’s involvement in health-related programs undertaken in partnership
with governmental and non-governmental organizations and civic groups.
11) Maintains and updates medical records of students and employees.
12) Ensures the proper maintenance and care of all equipment and facilities in the school clinic;
arranges for repairs as needed.
13) Joins students’ activities such as field trips, extra- and co-curricular activities when requested to
serves as stand-by provider of medical aid; provides similar assistance for employees’ activities;
ensures the presence of trained first aiders in case of unavailability to join such activities.
14) Ensures safety, sanitation, order, and cleanliness in the clinic; assists in ensuring the same
throughout the campus and its immediate premises.
15) Initiates and coordinates with the Facility Services Maintenance Unit the arrangements for the
fumigation / fogging of the school buildings and grounds and water analysis as needed.
16) Other duties as assigned.
▪ Student Affairs Office
Responsible for the overall functioning and performance of the Student Affairs and Services,
providing day-to-day leadership and direction with respect to policies, practices, systems and operations in
Student Services, Student Engagement/Campus Life, Counseling Services, and other areas as assigned by
the School Head. The Head of SAO oversees scheduling and work assignments, responsible for ensuring
quality standards, completing evaluations, handling complaints, grievances and appeals and performing
other duties as required. The Head of SAO contributes to the Institution’s success by providing input into
the development of the Institution’s strategic and operational plans, and by ensuring that the school
achieves its student engagement and retention goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
(a) Leads and represents the Student Affairs Office in the day-to-day operations, ensuring safety of
students, consistency of practice and maintenance of optimum service levels.
(b) Provides School/College-wide leadership by, directing the departments' work with faculty and
staff, colleagues, students and community partners in order to support, provide and/or
facilitate activities that ensure that the School/College achieves its student leadership
development, and engagement goals.
