P. 39

Like the other programmes, sensible eating here will lead to weight loss.

        The cons

There are relatively high effort levels involved in cutting back on certain
foodtsuffs. It also makes for complex shopping when you’re in a family, with
        different blood types.

Additionally, it can be rather expensive to follow the programme within the
rigours suggested – again, partly because of the time and money spent
cooking different meals for different blood types. For that reason, the diet
may not be sustainable over the long-term.

        Our take on the matter

There is no scientific evidence to support the theory proposed by the blood
group diets, and as such no hard evidence that they actually work. This diet
has been dismissed by experts as a fad diet.

Again, we come back to balance – is it really heathy to completely rid
yourself of one food group, a la Banting? Our final advice, therefore, is that
you try it, and see if it works. We know some people who swear by it, and say
they feel much better when they eat right for their blood group.

For that reason, far be it from us to knock it! If your red blood cells are
screaming for ice cream, then by all means shut them up with yoghurt .

Your eating plan for this type of diet programme

For this diet, we are going to showcase an eating plan for each type, so that
you can see the four blood types (O, A, B, AB) in action.
