                                5.5.   Mode of Recording the Credits:
                                           5.5.1.  Based  on  issuances,  the  employee  concerned  shall
                                                 furnish  the  HRMO  copies  of  documents  or  proof  of
                                                 designation  showing  the  total  number  of  hours/units
                                                 duly authenticated by his/her immediate supervisor;
                                           5.5.2.  The  HRMO  personnel  shall  prepare  a  separate  ledger
                                                 for the  entries  of credit  hours/units  and  the  equivalent
                                                 Compensatory Time Off (CTO); and
                                           5.5.3.  The  Compensatory  Time  Off  (CTO)  of  the  employee
                                                 may be availed of first before the regular leave credits.

                                5.6.   Study Tours
                                       Educational/study  tours  form  part  of  the  University’s  tool  for
                                       enhancing           employee  competence,  knowledge  and  work
                                       values;  enriching  employee  experience;   increasing  employee
                                       morale; improving employee interpersonal relationships.
                                5.7.   Sabbatical Leave
                                       It  is  a  privilege  granted  to  an  employee  who  has  demonstrated
                                       above average ability in instruction,  scholarship,  research,  or other
                                       creative accomplishments as a    published work in his/her field of
                                       work.

                            Eligibility:
                            An  employee  who  has  rendered  a  minimum  of six  (6)  years  of  continuous
                            service  in  IFSU  may  be  granted  a  sabbatical  leave  of  one  full  year  (2
                            semesters and  1   summer).  In addition,  the applicant must have proven  his
                            competence to finish the  project he is proposing to do.

                            Services  outside  the  University  are  considered  part  of the  six-consecutive-
                            year  requirement  provided  that  they  are  rendered  by  the  applicant  on
                            secondment to  a  government  institution,  either  locally  or  internationally  and
                            that  the  year  immediately  before  the  filing  is  spent  in  the  University.  The
                            required continuous service for     subsequent leave shall  be counted from
                            the date of return.  In cases where the sabbatical leave applied for in writing is
                            deferred due to scheduling difficulties, years of continuous service tor the next
                            leave shall include the period of deferment

                            No employee shall be awarded a sabbatical leave more often than once in five
                            (5) years.


                            Duration of Sabbatical Leave:
                            A sabbatical  leave for not more than  one  (1) year with  full  payment of salary
                            may  be  granted  to  a  faculty  member  if  in  the  judgment  of  the  University
                            President and the  Board of Regents,  the applicant’s  records as an employee
                            or researcher show reasonable assurance of fulfillment of the aforementioned
                            purpose of the sabbatical leave.

                            Priority Categories:
                            An applicant for a sabbatical leave may do one of the following options:
