Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Placing the Carriage on the Rails
At this point the frame rail on the driver side should still be positioned out 12’’ to allow clearance to raise the Carriage into
place.
1) Before raising the Carriage into place it will be necessary to disengage the Carriage Drive System to allow
the Carriage to slide back and forth down the rails and allow them to align properly. To do so, loosen the
Drive Couplings located close to the Carriage Motor and slide them out to remove the keys. Once the keys
are removed, slide the coupling (minus the keys) back over the center drive shaft but do not re-tighten them.
This will allow the coupling to rotate around the shaft once the Carriage is in place to align the rails properly.
· Loosen and slide out the
two couplings.
· Remove the keys and
slide the couplings back
into place.
2) Carefully lift the Carriage and drive it into the center of the wash bay with the front panel facing the entrance
of the wash bay. Raise it above the rails, making sure to allow room to side-shift the passenger side onto the
rails.
3) Once the passenger side is aligned, slide the driver side rail underneath the driver side rollers.
· Move driver side
rail back into
place under the
rollers
4) Lower the frame onto the rails so all four rollers sit onto the upper rail surface.
5) Remove the shipping frame from the Carriage at this time.
