                       MAINTENANCE

                       Chapter 3 General Repairs

Replacing a Bent Shaft or Wheel Bearing

The current design of the FreeStyler® uses the identical shafts on the entrance and exit wheels. If
your machine is one of the early versions, then it is possible that you have different entrance and exit
wheel assemblies. You will need to order the current design parts to repair your machine. These parts
can be found in the exploded replacement parts section of the manual.
At this time, it is a good idea to check your Neo-Tex™ for wear and replace the pieces as necessary.
Refer to the installation manual for procedures on how to change the Neo-Tex™. If you are replacing
one of the wheel bearings, follow these steps until you can pull the bearing off and replace it.

                          1) Turn off all power to the machine.
                          2) Turn the air pressure all the way down to zero and let the arm you are working on extend all
                              the way in.
                          3) Place your ladder against the wheel so it cannot swing back out.

 Unwire the motor from the machine taking note of which wire goes to which terminal.
Note: The lines have little white numbers 1, 2, or 3 on them and the terminals have a U1, V1, or W1
                                 label next to them.

 Remove the cotter pins and pull the motor off the arm. See the image below.

 Place the motor back out of the way where it cannot get damaged.
                          4) Remove the bolts from the bottom bearing. See the image below.
 Loosen the set screws in the top bearing. See the image below.

                                                                              Bearings have two set-screws each
