In some places the ground of Vraja is made of camphor dust. In
some places it is saffron. In some places it is made of ground musk,
and in some places it is made of the aromatic substances used in
religious ceremonies.

kvacit tu bhümi vividhaiva ratnair
nänä-vidhair märakaté ca käpi
kuträpi sä märakatéva ghäsair
gavädibhir bhuktatamaiç ca nütnaiù
kvacit—somewhere; tu—indeed; bhümi—the ground; vividha—
various; eva—certainly; ratnaiù—with jewels; nänä-vaidhaiù—various;
marakätaké—made of emeralds; ca—and; käpi—some; kuträpi—
somewhere; sä—-that; marakaté—emerals; iva—like; ghäsaiù—with grass;
gava-ädibhiù—by the cows and other animals; bhuktätamaiù—eaten;
ca—also; nutnaiù—fresh.
In some places the ground of Vraja is made of emeralds, and in
other places it is made of a variety of precious gems. In some places
the fresh grasses of Vraja, which are eaten by the cows and other
animals, is made of emeralds.
