Cylinder body and flywheel housing
Check and repair
1. Dismount the engine assembly

2. Disassemble the engine assembly
3. Overhaul the engine block

a. Measure and record piston extension before
disassembling piston and connecting rod assembly.
Measuring the piston extension before disassembly, if
needed, can help determine if the cylinder can be
resurfaced.

b. Before cleaning or further disassembling the cylinder
body, it is necessary to perform a visual inspection to see if
there is any damage (cracks, abrasions, etc.) that will
prevent further use. Pay close attentions to the following
areas of cylinder:

• Main bearing cap and hole
• Camshaft hole
• Cylinder hole

• Tappet hole
• Oil sump installation surface
• Front and rear of cylinder body sealing surface

• Oil cooler chamber

c. Check whether there are damages or leakages in all pipe
plugs, expansion plugs and straight screw thread plugs.
