 I will pray to Adonoy, íflÖîÒíÐ−-ñÓê−¤ÌzÐþÔzмÔíÐî  VA’EIRA àøàå
 and the wild animals will depart from Pharaoh, íÒ§¼ÐþÔtÌôëÒ†þÖ¼ÞÓíþ¤Ö½Ðî  2. Elohim spoke to Moshe í¢ÓLô-ñÓêó−£ÌíGÍêþ'ÑaÔðÐ−Ôî.ë
 and from his servants and from his people, tomorrow. þ¢ÖìÖôB £nÔ¼ÞÑôe î−'ÖðÖëμÞÑô  and said to him, “I am Adonoy. :íÒÞÖîíÐ−−'ÌòÎêî−£ÖñÑêþÓôêÒ'iÔî
 But let Pharaoh never again deceive us ñ flѳÖí ·íÒ¼ÐþÔt¹¥Ñ½Ò−-ñÔꚆÔþ  3. I revealed Myself to Avraham, ó§ÖíÖþÐëÔê-ñÓêê†ÖþÑêÞÖî.è
 [by] refusing to send the people to sacrifice to Adonoy.” :íÒÞÖîí−ÞÔñÔìÒ£aÐïÌñó flÖ¼Öí-³Óêì¤ÔlÔL ·−ÌzÐñÌëÐñ  to Yitzchok, and to Yaakov as Almighty Shaddai, −¢ÖcÔLñ¤ÑêÐaëÒ£šÎ¼ÞÔ−-ñÓêÐîš'ÖìЮÌ−-ñÓê
 26. Moshe went out from Pharaoh[’s presence] í¢Ò¼ÐþÔ tó¤Ì¼Ñôí£ÓLô ê'Ñ®ÑiÔî .î×

 27. Adonoy did as Moshe spoke [requested]. í flÓLô þ¤ÔëÐðÌk ·íÒÖîíÐ−NÔ¼¥ÔiÔî .ï×
                     He (God) spoke to him with severity  ¬ÖtÐLÌôBzÌêþÑaÌc
 He caused the wild animals to depart from Pharaoh íÒ£¼ÐþÔtÌôëÕ flþÖ¼ÞÓí ·þÔ½·ÖiÔî
                for he (Moshe) had spoken harshly, saying,  ,þÔôBñÐîþÑaÔðÐñíÖLКÌíÓLñÔ¼
 from his servants and from his people. B¢nÔ¼ÞÑôe î−¤ÖðÖëμÞÑô  “Why have you brought harm to this nation?” 2  :íÓfÔíóÖ¼ÖñíÖ³Ò¼ÑþÎííÖôÖñ
 Not a single one remained. :ðÞÖìÓêþ£ÔêÐLÌòê'G  And said to him, “I am Adonoy.” 3  .'ä éÄðÂàåéÈìÅàøÆîàÉiÇå
 28. But Pharaoh hardened his heart B flaÌñ-³Óê ·íÒ¼ÐþÔtð¥ÑaÐ×ÔiÔî .ì×  (I.e.) “[I] can be trusted to properly reward  ëB¬ þÖ×ÖNóÑlÔLÐñöÖôÍêÓò
 again, this time ³ê¢ÒfÔíóÔ¼¤ÔtÔaó£Ôb  those who walk before Me.  ,−ÔòÖõÐñó−Ì×ÐñÔíгÌnÔñ
                      And it is not in vain that I sent you  ,E−ÌzÐìÔñÐLóÖpÌìÐñêGÐî
 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RASHI  é"ùø AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA  but to keep My promise  −ÔþÖëÐcó−ÑiÔšÐñóÌê−Ìk
                  which I had made to the early Fathers.” 4  .ó−ÌòBLêÌþÖí ³BëÖêÖñ−ÌzÐþÔaÌcÓL
 [25] Deceive us.  .ìÅúÈä [äë]  And it is in this sense that we find in many places:  :³BôBšÐôíÖnÔ×ÐaLÖþÐðÌò êeíÓL eò−Ì®ÖôíÓfÔí öBLÖlÔëe
 [ñѳÖí is] the same as ñѳÖíÐñ. 37  :ñѳÖíÐñBôÐk  "’í −ÌòÎê,, [denoting] that He may be relied upon  öÖ ôÍêÓò’í−ÌòÎê
 [26] And prayed to Adonoy.  .'ä-ìÆàøÇzÀòÆiÇå [åë]  to exact retribution,  Z¼ÔþÖtÌíÐñ
 [þÔzмÓiÔî 38  means] he exerted himself in prayer.  ,íÖlÌõгÌa±ÑnÔêгÌò  when it (’í −òê) appears in the context of punishment,  ,LÓòB¼ ñÓ®Ñê þeôÖê êeíÓLÐk

 Similarly, had he wished to say þ−ÌzмÔiÔî 39  ,þ−ÌzмÔ−ÔîþÔôBñ êÖaóÌêöÑ×Ðî  as in: “You shall be profaning your God’s Name  E−ÓíGÍêóÑL³ÓêÖzÐñÔlÌìÐî öBèÐk
 he could have said so  ,þÔôBñ ñB×Ö−íÖ−Öí  (’í −ÌòÎê) I am God. 6  ’í −ÌòÎê
 and it would mean he used many [words] of prayer. 40  ,íÖlÌõгÌëíÓaÐþÔiÔî¼ÖôÐLÔôe  And when it appears in the context of  ñÓ®Ñê þeôÖê êeíÓLÐ×e
 Now that he says it in terms of ñÔ¼ÐõÌiÔî 41  ,ñÔ¼ÐõÌiÔî öBLÐñÌaþÑôBê êeíÓLÐkî−ÖLÐ×Ô¼  the fulfillment of mitzvos  ,³BЮÌô óeiÌš
 it means he increased [the intensity] of the prayer. 42  :ñÑlÔtгÌíÐñíÓaÐþÔiÔî¼ÖôÐLÔô  as in: “And you shall keep My mitzvos  −Ô³BЮÌôóÓzÐþÔôÐLe öBèÐk
 [27] He caused the wild animals to depart.  .áÉøÈòÞÆäøÇñÈiÇå [æë]  and do them, (’í −ÌòÎê) I am God,” 7  ’í −ÌòÎêóÖ³ÒêóÓ³−ÌNμÔî
 They did not die as did the frogs, 43  ,ó−̼ÐcÐþÔõЮÔíe³ÑnÓLBôÐke³ÑôêGÐî  [it means, “I may be] trusted to give reward.” 8  :þÖ×ÖNöÑz−ÌñöÖôÍêÓò
 for had they died  e³ÑôóÌêÓL  [3] I revealed Myself— 9  .àÈøÅàÞÈå [â]
 they would have benefitted from the skins.  44  óÖ³BþB¼ÐëíÖêÖòÎíóÓíÖñíÖ−Öí  to the fathers—  :³BëÖêÖíñÓê
 [28] Again this time.  .úàÉfÇäíÇòÇtÇaíÇb [çë]  as Almighty Shaddai.  .éÈcÇLìÅàÀa
 [Once more,] though he said,  þÔôÖêÓL−ÌtñÔ¼¹Ôê  [Meaning:] “I made promises to them  ³BìÖ¬ÐëÔíó−ÌzÐìÔ¬ÐëÌí
 “I will send you out,”  ,óÓ×гÓêìÔlÔLÔê−Ì×ÒòÖê
 he did not keep his promise.  .B³ÖìÖ¬ÐëÔíó−ÑiÔšêG  1 The name ó−šñê denotes ö−ÌcÔí³ÔcÌô—God’s attribute of strict justice. þÑaÔðÐ−Ôî, as opposed to þÓôêÒiÔî, also indicates harshness.
