                is not written here (I did not make known),  ,öêÖkë−̳Ðkö−Ñê
                                                                                                        and sacrifice to Adonoy, our God, eò− flÑíGÍêíÒ¤Öîí−ÞÔñ ·eòÐì·ÔëÖïÐî
               but, rather −ÌzмÔðBò êG (I did not become known)  Z−ÌzмÔðBò êG êÖlÓê
                                                                                                       in the manner that He will tell us.” :eò−ÞÑñÑêþ'ÔôêÒ−þ£ÓLÎêÞÔk
                 [meaning:] “I was not recognized by them  óÓíÖñ−ÌzÐþÔkÌòêG
                        by My attribute of keeping trust,  ,−ÌlÓL ³ezÌôÎê³ÔcÌôÐa                     24. Pharaoh, said, “I will send you out ·óÓ ×гÓêì¥ÔlÔLÎê−„Ì×ÒòÞÖêíÒ †¼ÐþÔtþÓôêÒ¤iÔî .ð×
       the reason for which My Name is called ’í, [which denotes  ,’í −ÌôÐLêÖþКÌòÖí−ÓñÖ¼ÓL   so that you may sacrifice to Adonoy, your God ·óÓ×−Ñí ÞGÍêíÒ¥Öîí−ÞÔñó„ÓzÐìÔëÐïe
                that] I may be trusted to keep My promises.  ,−ÔþÖëÐc³ÑnÔêÐñöÖôÍêÓò                                  in the wilderness, þ flÖaÐðÌnÔa
                                 For I made promises  ó−ÌzÐìÔ¬ÐëÌí−ÑþÎíÓL
                                                                                                     as long as you do not go too far away. ³Ó×¢ÓñÖñ eš−£ÌìÐþÔ³-ê ÞGš'ÑìÐþÔ횧Ôþ

             [Meaning:] Also when I revealed Myself to them  óÓíÖñ−̳−ÑêÐþÌpÓLÐkóÔèÐî
                                as Almighty Shaddai,  ,−ÔcÔLñÑêÐa

                              I established and set up  −ÌzÐðÔôͼÓíÐî−ÌzÐëÔvÌí
                 My covenant between Myself and them. 14  :óÓí−Ñò−Ñëe −Ìò−Ña−̳−ÌþÐë           [as Onkelos translates it] êÖ¼ÐþÔê³ÔñÖaÔìгÌê (past tense).  :êÖ¼ÐþÔê³ÔñÖaÔìгÌê

          To Avraham, in the chapter concerning circumcision,  íÖñ−Ìô³ÔLÖþÖõÐaóÖíÖþÐëÔêÐñ  [I.e.] “where you are, and do not go into the wilderness.”  :þÖaÐðÌnÔë e×ÐñѳêGÐî,óÓ×ÐôBšÐôÌa

              and I will give to you and to your descendants  EμÐþÔïÐñe EÐñ−ÌzÔ³ÖòÐî          [Actually] that which Egypt reveres (i.e., its idols)  ,óÌ−ÔþЮÌô³ÔêÐþÌ−

            To Yitzchok: “For to you and to your descendants  EμÐþÔïÐñe EÐñ−Ìk:šÖìЮÌ−Ðñ  but only when speaking to Israel is it called abominable. 36  ;íÖëѼBz dÖ³Bê êÑþBš ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−ñÓ®ÑêÐî
                             I will give all these lands,  ñÑ êÖí³Ò®ÖþÎêÖíñÖk³ÓêöÑzÓê            óÌ−ÔþЮÌô³ÔëμBz can also be explained another way:  ,óÌ−ÔþЮÌô³ÔëμB Þz,þÑìÔê öBLÖñÐaþÔôBñ LÑ− ðB¼Ðî
                                                                                                     It would be an abominable thing to Egypt  óÌ−ÔþЮÌôÐñ êeí −eêÐòÖNþÖëÖc
                                                                                                [to witness] the sacrifice which we are sacrificing  ,ó−ÌìÐëBï eòÖêÓLíÖì−ÌëÐï
       10 See Bereishis 17, 1; 35, 11. Rashi, there, explains −ð¾ as −³îíñêë −ÔðÓL—that there is sufficient power in My Godliness

       God did make His Name ’í known to Avraham: See Bereishis 15, 7: ó−ð¾× þîêô μ−³ê®îí þ¾ê ’í −òê—“I am ’í Who took  And not have them stone us?  .eðÞËìÀ÷ÀñÄéàGÀå
       you out of Ur Kasdim.”  12 Summary: though God made Himself known to the Fathers using His Name—“’í,” they
                                                                                                           [Meant as] a wondrous question.  :íÖiÌôгÌa
       never experienced the fulfillment of what “’í” represents, viz., the experiencing of God’s keeping His promises, albeit
       the time for fulfilling these promises had not yet arrived.  13 The previous verse ends with a negative statement,
       i.e., “My Name Adonoy I did not make known to them.” How, then, does the “also” of −³îô−ší óèî “I also established,”  34 How could Moshe refer to their gods as abominations when speaking to Pharaoh?  35 II Melachim 23, 13.  36 I.e.,
       being a positive statement follow? (S.C.)  14 Thus −³îô−ší óèî refers back to the beginning of the previous verse, i.e.,  when Moshe addressed Pharaoh he referred to the Egyptian idols as gods. But in Scripture, which is aimed at the
