However, this is not the plain meaning of the verse, ,êÖþКÌôñÓL B¬eLÐõíÓïö−ÑêÐî
then “we will journey” ought to be ¼Ô½ÐòÌò. However, this would be awkward and we therefore write it as íÖ¼ÐqÌò—with a
dagesh in the µ"ô½ substituting for the missing ö"eò. Here, however, there is no dagesh in the µ"ô½ indicating that the ö"eò
150 Gur Aryeh wonders why Rashi does not explain that these words signify that this was the place designated for is part of the root. It must therefore be translated in the imperative. “Let us journey!” [instead of “we will journey”].
