 3. Let us arise and go up to Beis Eil. ñ¢Ñê-³−Ñaí£ÓñμÞÔòÐîíÖôe'šÖòÐî.è  He encamped before the city. :þ−Þ̼Öí−'ÑòÐt-³ÓêöÔì£ÌiÔî
 There I will make an altar to the Almighty, ñ„ÑêÖñÔì†ÑaÐïÌôó¤ÖM-íÓNͼÞÓêÐî  19. He bought the part of the field í†ÓðÖOÔí³¤ÔšÐñÓì-³ÓêöÓš‚ÌiÔî .¬−
 Who answered me in the day of my distress, − fl̳ÖþÞÖ®óB¤−Ða·−̳Òêí¥ÓòÒ¼ÞÖí  where he had spread his tent, B flñÏíÞÖê·óÖL-íÖ¬ÞÖòþ¥ÓLÎê

 4. They gave Yaakov ë†ÒšÎ¼ÞÔ−-ñÓêe¤òÐzÌiÔî.ð  for one hundred kesitahs. :íÞÖ¬−ÌNКí£ÖêÑôÐa
 all the foreign gods that were in their hands, ó flÖðÖ−Ðaþ¤ÓLÎê·þÖ×ÑpÔí−¥ÑíGÍê-ñÖk³¤Ñê  20. He erected an altar there Ôì¢ÑaÐïÌôó£ÖL-ëÓvÔiÔî.×
 and [also] the rings in their ears. ó¢Óí−ÑòÐïÖêÐaþ¤ÓLÎêó−£ÌôÖïÐpÔí-³ÓêÐî  and called it, B flñ-êÖþК¶Ì iÔî
 Yaakov buried them under the oak [tree] í£ÖñÑêÞÖí³Ôì'Ôzë flҚμÞÔ−·óÖ³Òêö¥ÒôЬÌiÔî  “the Almighty is God of Yisrael.” ñ :ñÞÑêÖþÐNÌ−−'ÑíGÍêñ£Ñê

 The terror of Elohim was upon the cities ·ó−ÌþÖ¼ÞÓí-ñÔ¼ó−†ÌíGÍ곤ÔzÌì|−¤ÌíÐ−Ôî  and has returned safely.”  ,óÑlÖLêÖëe

 6. Yaakov came to Luz, íÖïe †ñë‚՚μÞÔ−ê¶ÒëÖiÔî.î

 which was in the land of Canaan— öÔ¼flÔòÐk±Óþ¤ÓêÐa·þÓLÎê  [A coin called a] mo’oh.  .íÖ¼Öô

 and he called the place Eil Beis Eil, ñ¢Ñê-³−Ñañ£ÑêóB flšÖnÔñ·êÖþКÌiÔî  (Onkelos renders it öÖõÐþeì—good ones,  ,ó−ÌëB¬ öÖõÐþeì :BôebÐþÔ³Ðî)
                     i.e., that are negotiable everywhere;  ,óBšÖôñÖ×Ða ó−Ìõ−ÌþÎì

 Lest you have in your possession  óÓ×ÐðÓ−ÐaLÑ−êÖnÓL  Not that the altar was called “God of Israel,”  ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−−ÑíGÍê −eþÖšÔìÑaÐïÌnÔíÓLêG
                  but, rather, since God had been with him  Bn̼í"ÖaÖwÔííÖ−ÖíÓLóÑLñÔ¼êÖlÓê
 a garment used in idol worship.  :íÖþÖïíÖðBëμñÓL ³e½Ðk
                                 and had saved him,  Bñ−ÌvÌíÐî

           he gave the altar a name reminiscent of the miracle  ,½ÑpÔíóÑLñÔ¼ÔìÑaÐïÌnÔíóÑLêÖþÖš
 It is a kind of non-fruit bearing tree.  :šÖþнöÔñ−Ìêö−Ìô
                      so that the praise of God be recalled  þÖkÐïÌò óBšÖôñÓLBìÐëÌL ³B−ÐíÌñ
 Near Shechem.  .íÆëÀL-íÄò
                     by calling [the altar] by [this] name.  ,óÑMÔí³Ôê−ÌþКÌa
 [Meaning:] near Shechem.  :óÓ×ÐLñÓ®Ñê
                        I.e., “He Who is Almighty, God,  ,í"ÖaÖwÔí êeí ,ñÑê êeíÓL−Ìô:þÔôBñÐk
 [5] The terror.  .úÇzÄç [ä]  He is God to me, whose name is Yisrael.”  .ñÑêÖþÐNÌ−−ÌôÐMÓL ,−Ìñó−ÌíGêÑñ êeí
 [Meaning:] the fear of.  :ðÔìÔt  We find something similar concerning Moshe:  :íÓ¾ÒôÐa eò−Ì®ÖôöÑ×Ðî

 [Meaning:] God is in Beis Eil.  ,ñÑê³−ÑëÐaí"ÖaÖwÔí  Not that the altar was called God,  ,’í −eþÖšÔìÑaÐïÌ nÔíÓLêG
 His Divine Presence is revealed in Beis Eil.  .ñÑê³−ÑëÐaB³Öò−Ì×ÐL −elÌb  but, rather, reminiscent of the miracle  ½ÑpÔíóÑLñÔ¼êÖlÓê
 Sometimes a word will be missing the prefix ³"−ë  ,dÖLêÒþÐa³ÓLÓnÔLÐôÔí ³"−ÑaíÖþѽÎìíÖë−ÑzLÑ−  he named the altar  Ô ìÑaÐïÌnÔíóÑLêÖþÖš
