¾ God’s wider family can enjoy being together too.

        Way to Work (Means)

Videos/DVD clips of family life could be gathered beforehand.

            1. Review the previous lessons.

            2. Explain that as well as working together, families can enjoy precious times together.

            3. Talk about the three families above and how each had to wait God’s timing but that
much joy must have been experienced in each situation.

            4. Let the children share times when their family had precious outings, happenings,
meals, etc. Some videos/DVDs may be shown if gathered beforehand from parents.

            5. Some children may need to share about sad times too. Stress that sad times do not

usually last forever. God’s heart is that we enjoy being a part of a family.

            6. Talk about happy occasions in our school family and in the class family. Remind the
children of God’s world-wide family that will be in heaven with Jesus one day.

Everyone will be happy and at peace then.

Church holidays could be referred to as times when the wider family of God gather to
enjoy themselves and learn more about God and his world.

            7. Let the children complete the worksheet or write about an enjoyable family day or
               meal.

        Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

            1. The children will see the importance of precious family memories.

            2. Children going through difficult times should be encouraged that sad times do not last

forever but God’s heart is for them to enjoy family life.
