Special IT issue: COVID-19
Many of you are now having to work remotely due to Covid-19 and the government requesting do not travel unless it is absolutely essential.
In order for you work remotely, IT is working exceptionally hard to keep up with the high demand on the service. Last week, the Trust purchased new devices, which were assigned and configured, software was installed and training took place.
It would be really helpful if you can let IT know if you have any spare, unused laptops in cupboards or drawers that can be re-commissioned for staff to work remotely.
The IT Service Desk is receiving a lot of calls asking about the practicalities of working from home. We do have some excellent ‘Remote working’ guides on the intranet that answer most of the questions people are asking (link). These include Remote Access System (RAS) and conference calling including FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype and BT MeetMe. This is the link.
We have created a new user guide to hold all of the guides. You can access it here (link).
If you would like further guides to support you – do get in touch.
As Angela McNab reported last week, fraudsters are exploiting the spread of coronavirus to facilitate various types of fraud and cyber crime. Fraudsters are sending out coronavirus-themed phishing emails around medical supplies or data in an attempt to trick people into opening malicious attachments or revealing sensitive personal and financial details. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON SUSPICIOUS LINKS.
