Here’s to new ideas and old traditions!
From this issue onwards, The Review has become a bi-annual magazine – two issues a year, January to June, July to December.
The primary reason for taking this decision is the fact that events and projects of our branches feature on our facebook page soon after they take place. Also, we have, over the years, been struggling to publish The Review on time – and failing! We intend to rectify that and publish the magazine to coincide with the dateline of the issue. It will also be more economical, especially on postage.
I appeal to branches to send in articles about the community and our people – focussing primarily on young achievers, stalwarts and those who have an interesting ‘story’ to tell. Some branches only send in reports about their events – that is not enough; but then again, some do not even send in reports! No matter how often your branch features on facebook, your efforts will not be recorded for posterity.
The Review will do just that.
We shall, slowly but surely, be using more pages
to publish community related articles on today’s newsmakers, people with a story to tell, places, interviews, opinions, creative writing – anything that will make interesting reading! All branch reports will feature in The Review, but in brief – unless it is a branch’s mega showpiece event.
Here’s to new ideas and old traditions!
